How Ruach Ministries came into being...

Robert Weston writes...

Back in 1980 the Lord began to speak to us about the state of the nation. What He showed us at this time - about His heart, and the state of the nation and the relative weakness of the Church in the face of so many antiChristian forces – changed and shaped our lives.

The 'message for our times' He gave us at that time evolved into a full-scale ministry over the next twenty years. Working in conjunction with worship groups such as Wellspring and with numerous churches and fellowships at home and abroad, we shared as much as we understood of the heart of God with the people of God, mainly through books, preaching and leading prayer and worship conferences.

At the same time, the Lord gave us a beautiful home in Shropshire (Mowbray Lodge), which we used to host retreats for groups of people who wanted to explore particular themes and to draw close to the Lord. Rosalind, my wife, was meanwhile producing material for Christian midwives as well as being fully involved as a midwife herself.

And then . . .

Through a series of dramatic interventions, the Lord Jesus showed us that Ros and I were about to experience a complete change of direction in our lives. A process began in the heavenly places that in the space of a few months uprooted us from Shropshire and led us to embark on a sojourn of unknown duration on Shetland, based in a lovely house called Ruach. One year later, some friends moved into Ruach, and we moved to another wonderful house on the edge of the ocean called The Rock. For three and a half years we sent out the story of what God was doing in Shetland (The Shetland Saga), as well as teaching and intercessory insights.
