Background
Since 1066 the town of Hastings has been
considered the “Gateway Town” to both the
British Isles and across to Europe as well
as being one of the Cinque Ports. The Cinque
Ports, situated along the south coast of
England, have historic and spiritual
significance stretching back to the Norman
Conquest and play an important role in both
the defence of the realm and in the
coronation of a new monarch.
Over the last 20-30 years many prophecies,
visions and words have been given of a great
revival coming to the British Isles,
spreading out across Europe – that our
little nation, which has always had a
spiritual significance and influence far
beyond itself, will again touch and change
the destinies of other peoples and nations
around the world.
2009 is the 70th anniversary of the
beginning of the Second World War – a time
of huge trauma and devastation for Europe
and of course the Holocaust and
extermination in Europe of millions of
Jews. Seventy years is symbolic because it
is the exact period of the Babylonian Exile.
The time of ‘exile’ for Europe is coming to
an end, and that we are about to enter the
days of spiritual freedom, restoration and
harvest. This will be Europe’s time for a
great move of God, that some believe will be
the last time before the Lord comes.
We believe the fire of the Lord will fall in
Hastings, and through the “ABLaZE”
Conference along the South Coast of England,
throughout the British Isles and across into
Europe.
Please pray for this Conference as it begins
to take shape and prepare to join us
together with people from around the world
in Hastings in 2009. |

Hastings
We believe this is a “kairos” moment for a town that
has known a great deal of failure in its past.
As the birthplace of television, what has come out
of Hastings has crossed the world. We feel that God
wants this conference to make a far reaching impact
too. In both Greek and German the word for
television is ‘far vision’ - a reminder that we are
called to see - and pray - into the distance as the
Spirit leads.
Lord, You long to be
glorified through that which has been despised and
rejected.
May a town known for murder
be known for giving life;
a town known for corruption
be known for its holiness.
A town known for drink and drugs
be recognised for
the fullness of the Holy Spirit
A town known for attracting asylum seekers find God
to be a strong tower and refuge.
A town where Satan has tried
to bring much occult bondage
be known for many deliverances
A town that is known throughout the world
for the battle in 1066
become a fire lighter for the Kingdom,
and so become the Bethlehem of England, for You love
to choose the weak and needy. |
